What Is Page OptimisationTo optimise each of your webpages for your chosen keyword/phrase requires you to know how the website pages that hold the top ten positions of your chosen search engine for your target keyword have achieved that ranking position and how you must optimise your web pages and the links to your website to obtain a similar ranking.
Here are some of the factors that will need to be analysed:
Page Name Found in the Page Settings tab for each section, sub sections and brochure page of your Actinic website. Use your keyword here for added relevancy. Page Titles Found in the Page Settings tab for each section, sub sections and brochure page of your Actinic website. Seperate with a | if suitable. Meta Description Found in the Details tab for each section, sub section and brochure page of your Actinic website. Keywords* Also found in the Details tab.for each section, sub section and brochure page of your Actinic website. H1 Text H1 Headline texts are texts that are written between the <h1>...</h1> tags in the html code of your web page. Some search engines give extra relevence to search terms that appear in the headline texts. Within Actinic these are automatically generated for example your section name. Images Give your images meaningfull names, calling them what they are is the best option as search engines cannot see images. Aviod using too many keywords in your image names as this will be seen as keyword stuffing by the search engines. Actinic automatically creates image alt tags. Text The text and title content on your website should contain the keywords you are optimising your page for. Link Popularity The quantity and quality of websites that link to your website. Search Engines assume that your web page must offer relevent information if many quiality sites link to it.
Keywords* You should be aware of where this is within Actinic but at the moment Googles "web search (the well-known search at Google.com that hundreds of millions of people use each day) disregards keyword metatags completely". They don't have any effect on how your website is ranked at present. |
